How to Check SASSA Appeal Status

1. Go to the official appeals portal at srd.sassa.gov.za/appeals and click the appeal button.
2. Enter your ID number and registered phone number, then request an OTP.
3. Input the OTP and submit to access the appeal form.
4. Select your reason and provide supporting details.
5. Your appeal is usually reviewed within 30 to 60 days, depending on verification and system processing times.

Who Qualifies for SASSA Grants

To qualify for the SRD R350 grant, your bank balance must remain below R624. Other social grants, including the Older Persons Grant, Disability Grant, Care Dependency Grant, and Child Support Grant, are strictly means tested and assessed on household income and assets, including your spouse’s, which must fall below the required thresholds to remain eligible.

How to Update Your Details

Change Phone Number: Visit SASSA Contact Portal, sign in, update contact, verify via OTP.

Change Banking Details: Login at SASSA SRD Portal, update account info, wait 5–10 working days for SMS confirmation.
